How you can help

How you can helpRNCF receives no government funding, and relies entirely on self-generated income and the generosity of supporters in order to continue this valuable work on behalf of some of the country’s most vulnerable young people.

These are challenging times for all charities, and there are growing numbers of children in the UK who desperately need our help.

Our target within 5 years is to increase from 373 to at least 500 the number of disadvantaged young people we support. To enable this, we need to fundraise an additional £400,000 each year.

We are a very cost-effective charity with a small team of paid staff, supported by a network of volunteer Area Representatives. Our endowment enables us to guarantee that every single pound raised in donations goes straight to paying school fees for vulnerable children. We also leverage all donations at least seven times with the help of school bursaries and other charities. Thus, a £1,000 donation funds a term at an independent boarding school and £3,000 covers a whole year. We commit to supporting these young people for the duration of their schooling if required, often up to 10 years.

A donation to Royal National Children’s Foundation makes a difference because:

  • We are a very cost effective charity with a small team, low fixed costs and a national network of volunteers
  • Our endowment guarantees that every pound donated goes DIRECTLY to grants for vulnerable children
  • Each donation is leveraged at least SEVEN times when we raise partner funding with schools and other charities.
  • Our commitment of support to vulnerable children is for the long- term – usually up to the age of 18.
