Our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, attended a special event on Wednesday 17 May, to mark the announcement of the Royal National Children’s Foundation (RNCF)’s merger with The SpringBoard Bursary Foundation (SpringBoard). The event was held at the London Headquarters of Credit Suisse, a longstanding corporate supporter of the RNCF.
Speaking to an audience of more than 200 supporters of the RNCF and SpringBoard, HRH offered a public endorsement for our decision to unite and form the UK’s biggest boarding school bursary charity.
“The RNCF and SpringBoard are natural partners,” she told guests. “The combined resources of the two charities should really help us reach more vulnerable and disadvantaged children.”
Her Royal Highness also confirmed she will serve as Patron of the new Charity. She has been Patron of the RNCF since 2003.
Attendees at the event also heard from four beneficiaries of the RNCF and SpringBoard, who told guests how the charities had transformed their lives. The new charity’s Chief Executive, Ian Davenport; Chairman Kevin Parry; and Trustee Patrick Derham also spoke about the new charity’s formation and plans for the future.
